Vanity Fair...Hitchcock Classics

Four photographers, Julian Broad, Norman Jean Roy, Mark Seliger and Art Streiber, and 21 of the finest actors working today, recreated stills from Alfred Hitchcocks movies. These photographs are great! I think the idea of recreating movie stills is neat and would love to try it!
Enjoy the photos!

Gallery 339

Ruth Thorne-Thomsen

I really enjoyed viewing her work. It was defiantly different and very unique. The Three images I chose are 5x4 inches and remind me of postcards the way they are shaped with the black border.
I like how she played around with the scale of images and combined them into one. It has a soft touch to each photograph, I also like the high contrast and silhouette of the figures.
My favorite part of the images is defiantly the scale though, I think it is what makes the photographs really interesting.

The Decisive Moment assignment

Making a birthday wish...

Finding the perfect piece of fruit...

My favorite is the birthday photograph, It's right before my niece was about to make her birthday wish and blow out her candles, it makes you wonder what her wish was. I also love the lighting in the photograph.
I used 400 tmx for this project, and for printing each photo I used a #3 filter, for higher contrast.

old family photos

My grandma and I went through her box of old photos awhile ago and I love them and I figured I would share them with everyone. My grandma grew up in Philadelphia(mayfair area), so its really neat to see how its changed.
The first photograph is my grandpa when he was about 5 yrs old. The second image is of my great- nanny on the Atlantic City beach. The third image is my grandma, her dad and her sister in phildelphia. The last image is of my grandma in philadelphia during WWII and the can next to her was filled with sand and was on most street corners, and if a bomb was to hit, you would throw the sand onto it.
